Semenggoh Wildlife Centre (Optional)
Located just 22 Km outside Kuching city, Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is one of the most well-known wildlife attractions in Sarawak. The centre is especially known for its orangutan rehabilitation program, where rescued and orphaned orangutans are trained to survive in the wild. Many visitors come here for the chance to see wild orangutans in a natural rainforest environment rather than inside a zoo enclosure. For travellers visiting Sarawak, Semenggoh Wildlife Centre offers a different type of wildlife experience. It is not a theme park or animal show.
Visitors who join the feeding sessions (9.00am and 3.00pm) may be able to observe orangutans moving freely through the forest, climbing trees, or approaching feeding platforms during scheduled feeding times.
The sanctuary is also surrounded by protected rainforest, making it a good destination for nature lovers, wildlife photographers, families, and travellers interested in conservation tourism.
